Advanced Placement Courses

The College Board publishes the curriculum, and teachers are accredited by the College Board to teach these courses. In May, students take an AP examination prepared by the College Board. Successful completion of these exams could provide a student with college credits or advanced placement in a particular college curriculum.

EDGE Courses

Students are able to take advantage of a collaborative arrangement between SUNY Jefferson Community College and IHC. The college offers these courses on our campus by approving IHC teachers as adjunct professors. Students and families benefit from a significant reduction in the regular tuition charged for SUNY college courses.

Credit for SUNY Jefferson Courses

Students taking Math 12, AP Calculus, AP Human Biology, and AP U.S. History at IHC will be able to earn up to 6 college credits from SUNY Jefferson by paying 1/3 of the regular tuition charged by SUNY Jefferson.

Bohlen Technical Center

The Board of Cooperative Educational Services (BOCES) of Jefferson County is providing vocational education to students of the entire county who have completed 9th and 10th grade and are sincerely interested in a specific vocation or trade. The Bohlen Technical School makes it possible for a student to be trained in an occupation and complete his/her high school education at the same time. This vocational training is given at the center located on Arsenal Street. Transportation is provided to and from the vocational center building. This center publishes its own handbook. Students and parents should consult this handbook for regulations of the Bohlen Technical Center. The Guidance Office at IHC can provide up-to-date academic regulations of the BTC.

High school students from the Fort Drum and Greater Watertown area can expect to be challenged and encouraged through the program at Immaculate Heart Central Schools. Apply online today or contact us to schedule a visit.
