UPDATE: Jr./Sr. High School To Go Remote Until Dec. 4
Updated: 6 days ago
All junior and senior high school students will learn remotely through December 4 following two positive COVID-19 cases at the IHC Jr./Sr. High campus.
Dear IHC community,
Jefferson County Public Health has notified Immaculate Heart Central of two cases of COVID-19 affecting students at the Jr/Sr High School. IHC is working collaboratively with Jefferson County Public Health who will be performing the contact tracing process pursuant to their protocols. The contact tracing process identifies anyone who comes into close contact with someone who has COVID-19. Jefferson County Public Health officials will communicate with any students or staff found to be in close contact with a positive case. Contact tracing slows the spread of COVID-19 and helps protect you, your family, and our community. If Jefferson County Public Health contacts you, please follow their recommendations.
IHC’s reopening plan was developed to address potential positive cases. We continue to follow the policies and procedures to ensure the health and safety of the students and employees and will continue to work with the Jefferson County Public Health Department. As much as Immaculate Heart Central is attempting to be transparent in this matter, we face competing privacy rights of our students and staff. The Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) and other privacy laws restrict us from disclosing or confirming any personally identifiable information. Immaculate Heart Central is not permitted to release any additional information.
As a reminder, remote learning will take place at the Jr/Sr High School through December 4, 2020. Therefore, the first possible day of in-person instruction would be December 7, 2020.
We appreciate your continued support and understanding. We will continue to work together to ensure our students’ and staff’s safety as we move forward.
Daniel Charlebois, Principal
